Grief and loss are ever present in the lives of older homeless persons. Yet grief and palliatiive frameworks rarely inform the delivery of services for this growing population of Canadians. In this webinar we will explore the different forms of grief and loss older homeless persons face prior to, during and following their experiences of homelessness. We will also explore how the absence of grief and palliative frameworks in Canadian policies and housing services creates a circumstance of disenfrachised or suffocated grief that threatenes older homeless persons’ capacitites to thrive when rehoused and inhibits their access to competent pallative spaces at end-of-life.
