Walking with Our Elders: Grief and Healing in Later Life

Supporting Healthy Ways of Living Through Grief and Loss – Webinar Series

Canadian Virtual Hospice (CVH) is partnering with Indigenous Peoples to enhance support for Indigenous individuals, families, and communities experiencing grief. This Indigenous-led initiative is guided by Dr. Holly Prince, Anishinaabekwe from Opwaaganisiniing, alongside a national Elders and Knowledge Carriers Circle convened by CVH. Together, they are addressing critical gaps in grief support by developing trauma-informed, culturally grounded resources and education, including this free webinar series.

About the Webinar

On January 21, 2026, join Holly Prince, PhD, and members of the Elders and Knowledge Carriers Circle—Diane Boots, Helen Gartner, and Naulaq LeDrew—for the sixth session in the Supporting Healthy Ways of Living Through Grief and Loss webinar series.

This session, Walking with Our Elders: Grief and Healing in Later Life, will focus on experiences, teachings, and wisdom related to grief and healing in later life. Elders will share reflections that support Indigenous Peoples and communities as they navigate grief and loss, offering insights grounded in lived experience, culture, and relational ways of knowing. Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions during the live webinar.

There is no cost to attend, and the session will be recorded and made available on the CVH Learning Hub.

The BC Hospice Palliative Care Association (BCHPCA) recognizes the traditional land of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples who have walked before us and minded the lands we now call home for time immemorial. Hospice Societies have been able to support, aid and care for many people on these same lands.

The BCHPCA Offices are located on the ancestral, traditional, and unceded lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and TsleilWaututh Nations.
